Our Founder's Story:

Vermont Roots to Trusted Aviation Care

Raised in Vermont with deep roots in southern VT and Bennington Airport, our founder David Bertram brings decades of hands-on aviation experience—from general aviation to commercial and corporate maintenance—to Avid Aviation.

A private pilot with a safety-first passion for superb, no-cut-corners service, he acquired the shop after years as a dedicated mechanic and Director of Maintenance to deliver the honest, detail-oriented care pilots trust most.

Our small, close-knit team delivers excellence in every aircraft service. We feature highly experienced mechanics—including multiple A&P and IA certifications—backed by a very strong apprentice mechanic program. With a family-first approach, we prioritize honest, thorough maintenance where safety and pilot trust always come first.
